Because of its central location, roughly in the middle between Florence and Pisa, Marti is an ideal holiday destination for culture lovers. Day trips to Pisa 40 km. and Florence 50 km. are an absolute must, and also Siena and San Gimignano are certainly worth your while. You can reach the Mediterranean Sea in approx. 50 min., perfect for those who want to take a refreshing dip in the sea. Marti lies in the hills where you can make lovely walking trips, but you can also enjoy long cycling tours. In short, a combination of beach, culture and sports is certainly possible here. Everywhere you'll will see the cypresses which Tuscany is known for, but you will also see vineyards and olive trees. During the summer, festivities, mostly of the gastronomic sort, take place in almost every village. With a little luck you can taste some hand-made wine or olive oil.
